Dr. Jinfeng Zhu

Materials discovery for nanophotonics

Dr. Jinfeng Zhu worked as an academic visitor in Professor Zheludev’s group at the ORC in Southampton from July 2017 until July 2018. Dr. Zhu received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2012. His research interests have been in nanotechnology, nanophotonics, nanoscale energy and microwave metamaterials. He has published more than 50 papers in these areas. He was a Research Assistant (November 2009 to November 2011) at the Device Research Lab (supervisor: Prof. Kang L. Wang) at University of California, Los Angeles. From 2012 to 2015 he was an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering at Xiamen University, China. Since August 2015 he has been an associate professor at the Department of Electronic Science and the Institute of Electromagnetics and Acoustics, Xiamen University, China. Dr. Zhu serves as the reviewer of ACS Nano, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, ACS Photonics, ACS Sensors, Nanoscale, Optics Express, Nanomedicine, IEEE Photonics Journal, IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, RSC Advances, Progress in Electromagnetics Research. He is also a member of IEEE and OSA.
